Using the HTML Editor
All Home Pages, emails and Webform templates are created using the Nimbus HTML editor. For ease of use, the editor offers similar functionality to Microsoft WordPad, but also has a tab to access the underlying HTML for those with appropriate skills.
The editor allows you to use various fonts and colours, embed images, create tables, add hyperlinks to other pages and add links to external web sites, as may be desired.
The default text for both Staff and Client Home pages contains some reminders, which you should feel free to edit out. Note that you can also create additional pages and link to these from your Home Pages to create your own mini-websites if so desired. This is a great way to add “members only” content to the Client Portal.
What is HTML
HTML is an acronym for Hyper Text Markup Language, which is the primary markup language used to write content on the Web. Every single Web page on the Internet has at least some HTML markup included in its source code.
Design Tab vs HTML tab
The Nimbus HTML editor allows you to either create email content using the Design tab or the HTML tab. The Design tab is much the same is using a Text Editor, and it has many toolbar functions that Word users would be familiar with. The HTML tab allows those users who understand the HTML language, to code directly using HTML. Please only use the HTML tab if you are familiar with the HTML language.
Toolbar functions
Toolbar functionality is similar to most Text Editors. When the mouse hovers over an icon a Tool Tip displays explaining the icons use.
Attaching images
Images may be inserted into your Nimbus emails as well as into your Home Page content. PNG (Portable Network Graphics) files are the best file type to display in a web browser.
Using a resource folder
All images used in emails or on Home Pages must first be uploaded into Nimbus so they can be accessed. Images may be uploaded beforehand, or they may be uploaded during the process of attaching the image to either an email or a Home Page. It is recommend that you create a Resource folder to store these images. The screen shot below shows a Shared Folder structure, which allows the user to store images in one folder.
How to attach an image to an email (where the image has previously being uploaded to Nimbus):
