How do I install the Nimbus Profiler?

You can install it yourself by following these steps:

Before you start

  • Read the changes introduced to MYOB AE/AO DM for customers using the Nimbus Profiler.

  • The Nimbus Profiler is only available for Windows 10 and 11.

  • Ensure you are on MYOB AE/AO version 5.4.53 via install guides: MYOB AE or MYOB AO.

  • Grab the login name and password for:

    • Your servers

    • Microsoft SQL server used by AE/AO

    • All workstations

Don’t use the default administrator login created by Windows

Step 1 - Create an API User in Nimbus

  1. Create an API User in your Nimbus account, you’ll need that soon. Learn more.

Step 2 - Copy the Staff URL

  1. Copy the Nimbus login URL from the welcome email you received to set your password the first time. The URL is under “Account Login" on the e-mail body.

  1. Alternatively, you can also copy the URL from you browser’s address bar to log into Nimbus.

Step 3 - Install the Nimbus Profiler

  1. Login onto the Windows Server using your administrator username and password.

  2. We recommend you backup your database priot to installing.

  3. Run this Powershell script to allow the Installer to encrypt credentials on the database:
    Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned

  4. Download the NimbusProfilerSetup.exe, and save to your desktop.

  5. Double-click the NimbusProfilerSetup.exe and follow the on-screen installation instructions:

    1. Read and accept the MYOB license agreement, then click Next

    2. Select the MYOB database from the list

      1. If you have more than 1 live database you can run the installer for each database.

    3. Select the authentication method for the database, then click Next

    4. Click Install to begin installation

    5. Enter your Staff Login URL, API User Login Code, and API User Password created on Step 1 and Step 2.

    6. Tick the “I have entered all the credentials in the above text fields”.

    7. Click on the OK button

    8. The Nimbus Profiler has been successfully installed. Click OK to exit.

Running MYOB AE/AO on workstations?

If you have workstations or terminal servers, there are additional steps needed.
