CCH iFirm


Overview of the Integration

Nimbus provides an integration that synchronises Client data from CCH iFirm, with a Nimbus Portal.  This is performed using the CCH API (Application Programming Interface). This means that Client details stored in CCH iFirm, may be automatically synced into the Nimbus system thereby providing a single point of maintenance in the CCH iFirm account.

Once set, the sync process can be stopped and changed at any time.  This FAQ outlines the options available for syncing this data.

Setting up the Configuration

Prior to the initial setup of the configuration, the user must note their CCH iFirm Nimbus Client Portal key.  This key is shown within the CCH iFirm software as described below:

They must also know the CCH iFirm URL for the business.  This is shown in the URL of your browser when you are accessing CCH iFirm.


Login to your Nimbus account and select Admin / AutoMate icon.  Click the Integration drop down and select CCH iFirm.  The following dialog will display:

  1. Enter your CCH iFirm URL into the Account URL
  2. Enter your CCH iFirm Nimbus Client Portal into the Account API key
  3. Select the option to only synchronise Active Clients into your Nimbus account.
  4. Click the Update button to save the configuration changes.

Once saved, you will be able to perform a Full Client Sync.  The Nimbus Full Client Sync will synchronise all Client details (as set up during configuration) into Nimbus.  These Client details will then only be editable within CCH iFirm.  All synchronised Client details will display in Nimbus as being synced (this is shown with the fields greyed out).

Synchronising data from CCH iFirm to Nimbus

Data is automatically synchronised between the hours of 7am – 7pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.  This data sync occurs every 10 minutes.  If you need to synchronise data immediately, then either a Manual Sync or a Full Client Sync can be performed.  A Full Client Sync should only be performed when necessary.
