Adding Signature Blocks to a PDF - Editing a PDF

PDF documents can be edited within the Nimbus system allowing Signature blocks to be added.

A Signature block can be added to a PDF that has either been uploaded to Nimbus or created via a Document Template in Nimbus (requires Nimbus Professional subscription).

This article discusses how to edit a PDF and manually add a signature block.

Generally, if you are adding a signature block to a PDF, the PDF is generated elsewhere other than Nimbus.

Instructions

Upload a PDF document into your Nimbus system, then edit the PDF.

  1. From your Client / Business Folder, edit the PDF

    1. This is done by either clicking the PDF icon to open the PDF in “Edit Mode”, or by clicking the PDF document link, to open the document in “View Mode” and then clicking the Edit button on the bottom of the screen.

  2. Once in PDF Edit mode, click the Insert tab on the ribbon bar. The first page of the document will display in the browser window.

    1.

  3. Navigate using either the thumbnails of the pages on the left hand side of the screen to display the page you wish to add a signature block onto, or use the UP / DOWN arrows on the right hand side of the page.

  4. You can add either a Business Signature stamp (for staff to sign) or a Client Contact Signature stamp (for client contacts to sign).

    1. For staff, click the Business Signature icon on the Toolbar - a Green block will be placed

    2. For client contacts, click the Client Contact Signature icon on the Toolbar - a Yellow block will be placed

    3. By pressing either icon, a coloured signature block will be placed on the face of the document.

    4. Whilst the signature block is still active, it can be moved anywhere on the page, and can be resized. If the block is active, the system will show a dotted line around the outside. In the sample above, the Client signature block for Regina, is still active and can still be moved anywhere on the page.

    5. To set the signature block in place, click anywhere outside of the block, or click the Apply Stamp icon on the Toolbar.

Note that if you subscribe to Nimbus Professional, you can create Document Templates with signature blocks added as placeholders. When a new document is then created from the template, the signature blocks are then auto-created in the correct location.
