Binary Files
A binary file is created within Nimbus CDM when a file is stored which does not have a file extension. File extensions are .doc, .docx, .xls, etc.
When a file is created from a Document Template, it is possible to remove the file extension. In some cases it is then possible to edit the File Properties and add the file extension back into the File Name. If this is, the file may then be accessible as either a Word or Excel document.
If not, the file will need to be recreated.
Binary files cannot be edited within the Nimbus system, or via the CDM AddIns. The filename must firstly be changed to include the file extension before it will become editable.
