Document Categories (CDM Only)

Document Categories are used in conjunction with Document Custom Fields.

A Document Custom Field must first be setup, with a field Type defined.

Field types can be one of the following:

  • Fixed List
  • Data List
  • Text
  • Memo
  • Number
  • Date
  • Money
  • Checkbox

A Document Custom field can be set as mandatory, meaning that it must be defined on every document within the system at the point of the document properties being updated.

Once a Document Custom field has been setup, it can then be referenced in a Document Category.

Document Categories are used to group "like" documents together via the Category meta data field.

The system will provide a "Default" Document Category, though you can add additional Document Categories.
