Single Sign On (SSO) - Xero

Nimbus allows staff to use their Xero credentials to log in to their Nimbus account.

The option firstly needs to be set up within Nimbus and once set up, staff are able to login to Nimbus using their Xero login.

If Xero SSO is set up within your Nimbus account, it will be available to ALL staff. Staff who also have a Nimbus login code can choose to either login to their Nimbus account using the Nimbus login code and password / authenticator OR their Xero Login.

To set up Xero SSO within your Nimbus account:

  1. Login to your Nimbus account

  2. Select Admin / Single Sign On

  1. Click the drop-down arrow and select Xero

  2. The Xero Switch on SSO button will display

  3. Click the Xero Switch on SSO button

  4. Xero SSO is now enabled

When staff first log in to Nimbus after SSO enabled:

  1. Using your Nimbus Staff login URL, click the Sign on with Xero button

  2. The system will then display the Log in to Xero page.
    Enter your Xero login credentials and click the Log in button.

  3. The first time each staff member logs in to Nimbus using their Xero login credentials, the system will require access to be granted. The staff member must Allow Access between Xero (sharing personal data such as basic profile and email address) and Nimbus to authenticate the SSO.
    Click the Allow Access button to continue.

  4. Your Nimbus account will now be displayed, as the staff member has successfully logged in.

IMPORTANT: Matching Nimbus Staff Login codes with Xero Staff Login Email address

When Xero SSO is enabled, staff will log in to Nimbus using their Xero login credentials. For this to work correctly, the Nimbus Staff Login code MUST be the same as the staff members Xero Email address which is used to login to Xero.

If this is not the same, the system will NOT be able to authenticate the staff login and the following Advice will be displayed.

Click the OK button and the standard Nimbus login dialog will display allowing the staff member to login via the Nimbus login (if they have previously set a password) or to elect to Sign on with Xero SSO again.

 

Logging out of Nimbus

Once a staff member has logged into Nimbus using Xero SSO, the Nimbus Logout button will be replaced with an Exit button. Therefore, when a staff member has finished work in their Nimbus account, they will now select Exit.
