Ability to create a Shareable Link for a Document
This enhancement provides the option to create a Document Link, which can be copied and used to access a Nimbus document from an external source or from within your Nimbus account. Appropriate security is still applied.
Copying the Document Link
To copy the document link, locate the required document and click on the Document Name using a right mouse click.
Click the Copy Document Link option when it displays.
This has now copied a unique link to your browser clipboard:
a. Google Chrome, Firefox and Edge - hyperlink
b. Safari and other browsers – URL
Note that copying the document link can be performed in any view type (Grid, Thumbnail or Card view). Examples of copying the document link are shown below.

Pasting the Document Link
Once the document link has been copied to your browsers Clipboard, you may then paste it into various documents / files as described below:
External files – using Google Chrome, Firefox or MS Edge
These browsers allow the copying of a hyperlink which can then be pasted directly into Excel and Word files:
From within Nimbus, copy the Document Link.
Open the required locally stored Excel / Word file.
Place the cursor where you would like to add the link.
Right mouse click and paste the link.
The link will automatically become a hyperlink, which once clicked will open another tab in your browser and display this file. Note that if you are not logged into Nimbus at the time, you will be requested to do so.
External files – Safari and others
These browsers do not allow the copying of a hyperlink and so one must be created when you paste the link into your Excel and Word files:
From within Nimbus, copy the Document Link.
Open the required locally stored Excel / Word file.
Place the cursor where you would like to add the link.
Right mouse click and select Link / Hyperlink.
Paste the contents of the clipboard into the Address: field.
If you would the filename to be displayed as the link, copy this from the end of the URL and paste into the Text to display: field and click the OK button.
The hyperlink is then active.
If you then click the newly created hyperlink, Nimbus will open your default web browser and display this file.
Note that if you are not logged into Nimbus at the time, you will be requested to do so.
Internal Files stored within Nimbus
Copy the Document Link

If you then click the newly created hyperlink, Nimbus will open another tab in your browser and display this file.
