Configuring HowNow's integration

The Nimbus synchronisation process pushes Client records to Nimbus and allows the Practice to mark documents from within HowNow to share with a Client, and also allows for documents shared by a Client to be stored within the Document Management System.

The Process

Nimbus AutoMate software is installed and then configured to sync with the local HowNow database.  When configuring HowNow integration within Nimbus, there are two tabs that must be completed.  The first allows access to the Client Database, the second configures the statuses that will be used to transfer documents to and from Nimbus.

Database Syncing

1. Install Path field

Nominate the location of the HowNow ini file.  This file contains information about the location of the HowNow database.

2. HowNow Host field

The HowNow Host is prefilled from the information stored in the HowNow ini file (nominated in the Install Path).

3. Pass key field

This is supplied by HowNow to allow authentication by Nimbus AutoMate.

4. Filtering on field

Nominate a HowNow flag that allows AutoMate to only synchronise those clients who have this HowNow flag.  This can be empty also.  The integration will only synchronise Active HowNow Clients.

Document Syncing

The following dialog allows us to configure how the documents will be synchronised to and from Nimbus.

The information below outlines the meaning of each field.

1. Copy Status – Trigger On field

The Copy Status is used when a document is ready for upload to the Nimbus Portal.  AutoMate will scan HowNow and automatically upload any document with this status.  Examples are “Ready for Upload”, “Ready for Client”.

2. Copy Status - Completed field

Once Nimbus AutoMate has uploaded a document that is marked with the “Copy Status” eg: Ready for Upload, Nimbus will automatically update the status of the document to the Completed status.  Examples are “Uploaded”, “Shared with Client”.

3. Remove Status – Trigger On field

The Remove Status is used if you wish to remove a document from Nimbus.  AutoMate scans Nimbus and removes documents with this status.

4. Remove Status – Completed field

This status is applied to documents that have been removed from Nimbus via the Remove Status Trigger On field.

5. Client Uploads – Target Location field

This is the name of the default HowNow Filing Cabinet (bucket) where all files that are stored by Nimbus AutoMate, when they have been uploaded into Nimbus by a Client.

6. Client Uploads – Status field

When a Client uploads a document into their Nimbus Portal, the Client Uploads status is applied, as the document is stored into the default Cabinet in HowNow.  Examples are “Downloaded” “From Client”.
