Nimbus Login

 

The Nimbus Login dialog is the entry gateway into your Nimbus Account. This is where practice employees and their clients log into Nimbus. The dialog supports single factor authentication and a two-factor authentication (2FA) pin. The first factor can either be a password or a 6 or 8 digit passkey generated by an Authenticator app. The second factor is a 6-digit code that can be emailed or sent by SMS.  

How to login 

  1. Enter a valid login code and password and click Login to access Nimbus

If you have configured an Authenticator App, then enter the passkey generated by the Authenticator app instead of a password. Learn more.

  1. If your credentials are valid, Nimbus will send a 2FA code to your email address as the default option.

To receive the code via SMS, navigate to “Manage Employees” in the Admin menu and edit your user record (Admin users only) or “My Details” menu in Nimbus. Ensure your mobile number is valid then enable “Use SMS Pin for 2FA“.

  1. On the Two-Factor Authentication screen enter the 2FA code you received and click Verify.

  2. If you enter a wrong 2FA code or take too long and the pin expires, you’ll need to login again.
     

First time login 

A two-factor authentication (2FA) code is mandatory for practices using Nimbus in Australia. 2FA is optional for practices on all other regions and for clients accessing the Nimbus Client Portal. Learn more

  1. Once the administrator creates your Nimbus account, you will receive a “Password setup link” email. 

  2. Click on the “Account Login” link in the email. This will take you to the Nimbus “First Password” screen on your browser. Here you can enter your password.

  3. Once you have entered your password, click on the Send Pin Icon to send a pin to your email address.

  4. And enter your pin to login

  5. Alternatively, you can setup your login to use an Authenticator app instead of a password. Learn More.

  6. If you take too long to enter the 2FA pin, it might expire. You’ll need to resend the pin by selecting the Send Pin icon. Learn more.

     

Forgot password? 

  1. If you have forgotten your password, click the “Forgot?” link on the Login screen.

  2. On the Forgot Password screen, enter your login code and email address. Then click Submit.

  3. Open the “Reset Password” link sent to your email. This will take you to the Reset Password screen on your browser.

  4. On the Reset Password screen, enter a new Password and confirm it, similar to your first-time login.

Change login type to Authenticator App 

The benefits of using an Authenticator app is that you do not need to remember a password and you are using the added security of your device to retrieve a Passkey to authenticate.

  1. Make sure you have an Authenticator App installed on your device.

  1. To change your login type from Password to Passkey, you’ll need to reset your password via the Forgot link on the Login screen.

  2. On the Reset Password screen, select Authenticator 6 digits or Authenticator 8 digit options.

     

  3. Using an Authenticator App on your device, scan the QR code on the screen using the device’s camera.

  4. Enter the passkey generated by the Authenticator App.

  5. Click on the Send Pin icon to receive a new 2FA pin.

  6. Enter the 2FA pin and click the Login button.

  7. You can now login into Nimbus using a passkey generated by an Authenticator App on the login screen.

     

  8. If you lose your device or no longer can access your Authenticator App, you may need to configure a new Password. Learn More
