Uploading a file to share with a client

Files that are to be shared with Clients can be manually uploaded into the relevant Client Folder.

For CDM Users: If you wish to publish these documents straight away, we would recommend the files be uploaded to the Client Yellow folder, otherwise, if the files are uploaded to a Green "Current" folder, you will need to go through the Publishing process.

As soon as files are visible in the Clients yellow "To Client" folder (or sub-folder), the file is then visible by the Client via their Client Portal.

Depending on the configuration of your Client Portal and whether or not you have selected to send an email notification to the Client, the Client will receive a File Upload notification which includes a link to the files which have been shared.

How to Upload Files:

  1. Navigate to the respective Client Folder where you want to load the files
  2. Click the Upload icon to the right of the relevant folder. At this point, you can either browser your local system for the files you wish to upload, or you can drag and drop them into the Upload dialog.

3. Once you have "queued" the files to be uploaded, check to ensure you have "Send File Upload Notification" ticked, if you wish to send an email with links to the files being shared.

4. Then click the Upload button.  At this point, the system will send the "Upload File Notification" email (if the option was ticked), and will make these files visible to the Client via their Portal.

5. When the file(s) have been uploaded, the system will display a Green tick icon and at this stage, you can click the Close button
