Intro: What is the Nimbus Profiler?
If you are a MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE), or MYOB Accountants Office (AO) site, who also uses Nimbus Document Manager, you will soon be able to publish a document from AE/AO directly into Nimbus from the “Share It” button in AE/AO
This will save the document into Nimbus - allowing you to “Profile” it along the way
Profiling is adding the client details and other meta-data against the document - to help you find it easily in the future
The extra meta data you add against the document is controlled by your Practice Administrator - when they set up Templates in Nimbus
Note that only some workflows are currently supported - see more below
How does it work?
If you are in say a Tax Return in AE/AO:
If you print/preview it
From the preview screen you will be able click on the “Share it” button
AE/AO will then pop up a “Profiler” screen - where you can add some additional details about the document
And then the document will be saved into Nimbus - against the correct client.
You will then be asked if you want to open Nimbus in the Browser
If you say yes - you will then be a taken into Nimbus where you will see the new document.
(You will be prompted to log into Nimbus if needed)Once it is in Nimbus you could then send it to your client to review, or sign - via the Nimbus Portal.
Setup: What do I need to do to get it working?
For the Beta Release in Dec 2024 - Please contact your MYOB Consultant.
They will help you get it installed and configured correctly.
About Nimbus Automate
Please be aware that Nimbus Automate needs to be running in order that the Client records are kept in synch between the 2 systems. This is needed for the Profiler to work properly.
If you are a Nimbus site, your Practice Administrator will have already set this up for you.
Further details:
In order to publish a document from AE/AO to Nimbus via the Profiler, the client record needs to exist in both AE/AO and Nimbus, with the same Clientcode stored against the client in both systems.
(This is how we tell which Client the document from AE/AO should be stored against in Nimbus, when you click on the Share-It button)New Clients added into AE/AO will be automatically added into Nimbus by Automate.
And the correct Clientcode will be stored in Nimbus against the new client record, when Automate creates it in Nimbus. However, if you experience any issues - please check that the client exists in both systems, and contact MYOB support if needed.
Supported Workflows
Note that only some workflows are currently supported.
We plan to build this out in the future as needed. However, we decided to release what currently works now - so you can enjoy the use of it sooner rather than later.
The following workflows are supported for the Beta Release as at the end of 2024:
Workflow | Details | |
---|---|---|
1 | Publishing a Tax Return
| You are in a AE/AO Tax Return, and click on “Share it” |
2 | Publishing from Statutory Reporter | You are in an AE/AO Statutory Report, and click on “Share it” |
3 | Publishing a Workpaper | You are in an AE/AO Workpaper, and then click on “Share it” |
4 | Publishing from PDF Manager This currently only works for Tax Returns | You are in AE/AO and have published a Tax Return to PDF Manager, and then click on “Share it” |
Unsupported Workflows
The following workflows are not currently supported for the Beta Release as at the end of 2024:
Workflow | Details | |

1 | Other workflows from within AE/AO | E.g. you are in PDF Manager and click on “Share it” |
