Passkey Authenticator app

For desktop users who hate remembering passwords, there is an option to use 6 or 8-digit passkeys generated by a mobile Authenticator app instead of a fixed password.

There is a choice between 6-digit or 8-digit passkeys:

Various mobile authenticator apps can be used. The Google authenticator app only uses 6 digits.  However, we recommend using apps supporting 8-digit passkeys.

To set up the Authenticator app it will require scanning a QR code with your mobile device, which is presented in the Password dialog when authenticator mode is selected.
