Change Folder Syncing Configuration

This process discusses how to view or change your AutoMate configuration. Items required before commencing the upgrade:

  1. Location on server where AutoMate is currently installed

  2. Admin Access to the server where AutoMate is currently installed

  3. URL for Nimbus Practice

  4. Admin login code and password to Nimbus Practice

  5. Location of existing Folder store

  6. Location of new folder store

Locating where AutoMate Service is currently installed

  1. Accessing the Nimbus AutoMate Service must be performed on the server where this service is installed.

  2. Open Windows Service Manager:
    1. Control Panel
    2. Performance and Maintenance
    3. Administrative Tools 
    4. Services
  3. Look for the Nimbus AutoMate Service.

  4. Nimbus AutoMate Service is normally installed on the Database Server.

Viewing / Changing the configuration of your AutoMate Service

  1. Start the web browser.

  2. Login to Nimbus as Admin.

  3. Click Admin / AutoMate tab, and the following screen displays:


  4. Click the Configure button, and a similar dialog will display. Depending on your integration mode, some tabs will be named differently.


  5. Click the Folders tab

  6. The Local root: will show the current location of your folder syncing. Click the option to Disable Folder Sync. This will stop the folder sync process.
  7. Copy the FULL Nimbus documents folder to the new location. This saves Nimbus AutoMate having to re-sync all of the folders and files.
  8. Go back to Nimbus / Admin / Portal and deselect both the Automatic file upload notifications and AutoMate Upload Welcome Email options. Remember to Apply your changes. 
  9. Now back to the Nimbus AutoMate configuration dialog. Set the new Local root: for the new folder location. This MUST be a UNC pathname and not a folder share.
  10. Click the Test folder access button, and if you have full permissions, click the Sync Now button. This may take a while depending on the number of documents / folders being scanned. Because the folder and its contents were copied to the new location, AutoMate needs to check what is in the Cloud, is the same as what is on the local folder store.
  11. When the Sync Status: comes back as Completed, now waiting..... you can Close the Nimbus AutoMate dialog and then logout of Nimbus.
