Changing Document Extensions in Nimbus

Your Business may have created document templates in the templates area when the Nimbus account was setup.  A document template can be of .DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, HTML etc.

We don’t recommend changing the document extensions in Nimbus. The document format will be set automatically when you create a document in Nimbus from a Business document template.

For example, if a document file type extension is changed from .XLS to .XLSX the document may lose the format and may get corrupted. We advise all the users to create the document templates as per the requirements and do not edit the file type extensions after creating the documents.

This issue is wider than just document template and relates to any document that is stored in the Nimbus system. If a user changes the file extension of a file to other than the original file type, the system may loose the format and corrupt the file.
